In the Director's Chair

In the latest message from Britney to her adoring fans, the Louisiana Lapdancer took time out from getting married and whatnot to reflect on the creative rewards of co-directing her new video, "Do Something."

"Co-directing this video was like an experimental project for me," Brit says in a New Year's Internet posting. "I feel like being behind the camera is sometimes more satisfying than being in front of it. When a woman directs, I think it just alters the entire feel of the movie, production or play in such a positive way."

"Speaking of, I've been working on writing and hopefully eventually directing a musical which makes fun of the whole Hollywood scene, which is appropriately titled 'Hollywood.'"

That sounds, like, way, way funny.

We look forward to Britney turning her jaundiced eye and rapier wit to the dystopian carnival that is Hollywood. If anyone can skewer Tinseltown's carnival of materialism and yawning moral vacuity, it is our own Dorothy Parker for the Modern Age.

Britney's not the only hoochie mama hankerin' to prove she's not just another pretty ... oh, wow, she has a face, too? Ex-Playboy playmate Jenny McCarthy is hard at work on "Dirty Love" (the movie, that is). Carmen Electra co-stars, so we're assuming the flick will gets lots of free press on Howard Stern (not literally, that is ... or on second thought, maybe we do mean literally).

Jenny stars in the movie, which she also scripted. As she explains, it's a comedy about Ecstasy. "There's so many people taking it and not enough people making fun of it," she says. Y'know, the same can be said bowel movements.

Then again, sounds like the movie might be about that, as well.
