I know the lefties are salivating...but the sad truth is, i doubt this will have much of an impact unless bushcheney is indicted. senor bushie is already a lame duck and congress is scurrying away from him faster than a texas roadrunner hankering for some seed.
And I agree with those who say this mess (and frist's) makes the blue dress seem quaint (do you know the origin of the word quaint. think c-word, really...although, in this instance, I use it's modern common usage). But the bottom line is this: We have a bunch of liars, cheats and skirt-chasers so caught up in their own worlds that none of them do much of anything to improve ours. Worse, Bush has actually lobbed grenade after grenade into our time. Where or where are the leaders of our time? Are they hiding in accademia? Have they channelled themselves into a motherboard somewhere? Or, I fear, are we now suffering a vacuum brought on by generations who have shunned public service for fame and fortune? The correction is coming, not only in the stock market. I thought perhaps 9/11 would do it. But when Bush asked nothing of us...when he urged us only to spend, spend, spend to re-ramp the economy, I knew it wasn't going to happen. Sometime soon, whether we want to our not, there will be a return to public service. Terrorism will force it. And then, perhaps, we'll see heros emerge, heros who have been in the shadows all this time waiting for someone else to get things done..
