A Selective Culture of Life
Don't let it be said that George W. Bush doesn't take advantage these days of every opportunity to exploit -- er, stroke -- the Religious Right.
While Dubya was appropriately laudatory in his remarks on the death of the Pope, he managed to toss a nugget related to the post-Schiavo controversy:
"Throughout the West, John Paul's witness reminded us of our obligation to build a culture of life in which the strong protect the weak."
Presumably, Dubya's endorsement of the Pope's "culture of life" doesn't extend to the Catholic Church's condemnation of the death penalty.

Thanks for knowing the difference between nugget and nougat.
Nor does your sanctimony -- evidently -- extend to protecting the weak and unborn. A predictable response from a leftwingnut. You'll shed tears for murderers, but your heart turns to stone for swaddled babes and the infirm.
It is so convenient for so-called religious conservatives to protest on behalf of the unborn. Aborted babies have no needs. All it costs to be on their side is self-righteousness. These same people have no interest in serving the needs of babies who are actually born. As soon as a pregnancy is wanted, they lose their zeal. Why don't they protest for better prenatal care? Jesus must be in agony at the hypocrisy.
And I didn't see one reference in OKPartisan's post regarding the unborn. Just like a rightwingfreak to assume that all liberals want to line em up at the abortion clinics.
