Cutting to the Chase
Ramblings on politics, film, music, literature, current events, pop culture, lists, dirty words, trapezoids, birds, cartoons and any other damned thing that strikes my synapses. A 39ish-year-old freelance journalist and writer living with his wife and baby daughter in the hardscrabble environs of Oklahoma, Chase McInerney now spends much of his time frozen in stark, cold sweat-inducing, gut-percolating fear. For it will be soon ... yes, very, very soon.

I can believe that some FOX producer willfully slipped the "D's" into the mix. But don't you think it's getting a little tin-foil-hat brigadesque to suggest the AP did this intentionally? I'm just sayin'...
I saw the news this morning where the other cable news channels were making fun of Fox News (Fair and Balanced) putting the D behind Foley's name. Pretty fringin' priceless. Do you think that came from the Karl Rove fax machine?
Oh ... well, color me silly!
But on your point, actually, yes, I can believe that someone intentionally inserted that "D" at FOX News. Not that it was a organization-wide conspiracy, but that a producer or chyron operator intentionally did it is very much within the realm of possibility.
Why do I believe that?
Because of all the other scandals that have hit the media in general lately -- such as the willful doctoring of photos out of Lebanon by the Reuters photographer.
It seems that news media outlets have allowed standards to degenerate to the point where little saboteurs working in the midst of good journalists can get away with a lot of willful bias.
On a different note, I'm spending waaaaaay too much time commenting here at CTTC when I have my own blog to shepherd and waste time on, and I sense that I'm sort of like the drunk at the party that is still trying to get everyone to join him in coin drinking games even though he's already puked all over a couple of guests ... and well, you get the picture.
So I'll be taking a hiatus from bringing my steely-eyed conservative combativeness for truth, justice and the American way around these parts. I'm sure that tears up a lot of commenters here, Brad especially. Meanwhile, it's back to checking those blast-fax talking points from Mehlman! I'll be back with more, once I get my marching orders from Karl!
I think this may be a case of political profiling. All D's act the same.
Come back, Red Dirt! Come back!
Milton Friedman is a golden god!
Just yanking the chain -- bon voyage.
Sorry for the French.
Your Quebecois nemesis,
Brad
