On a Routine Expedition ...

Despite my occasional rants about Hollywood rushing to remake, refashion and regurgitate every lame bit of TV detritus, I have to admit I'm a bit hopeful about the upcoming cinematic version of Saturday morning TV's "Land of the Lost." I have unreasonably fond memories of the Seventies-era Sid and Marty Krofft show, which featured the dinosaur-laden exploits of Marshall, Will and Holly after the world's most mind-blowing rafting trip.

Will Ferrell as the dad, Rick Marshall (Spencer Milligan in the series), seems like an inspired casting choice.

not "lizard guys," sleestaks (sp?). there's a cleveland weather girl who looks like their pretty leader.

i have slim hopes for this movie since i, too, have very fond members of this saturday-morning classic. remember the crystals in the pyramid controlling the weather? (ooh, spooky...just like the cleveland weather...maybe the weather girl is a sleestak...explaining why it snowed again yesterday. it could explain the tumbleweeds and frogs in OKC, too).

chase, why not ask your devoted blog fans(which i'm convinced are nothing more than a rag-tag mix of former colleagues, girlfriends and prison pen pals)to suggest casting the rest of the film?

they had to cast will ferrell because he's the only man in hollywood who doesn't wax. has anyone noticed that? in the 70s, it was furry burt reynolds...and now women want men and smoothe as, well, women.
