Hot, Blonde Teachers Continue to Plague U.S. Schoolboys
By Conrad Spencer
Following on the heels of Debra Lafave and Pamela Rogers Turner, among other celebrated cases, a Colorado teacher has been accused of inappropriate sexual behavior with a student.
The media may be getting a bit over-eager to report these stories, as Carrie McCandless and the alleged "victim" apparently never did the horizontal mosh, just had a few heavy make-out sessions and shared a bottle of Jack Daniels. Oh, and unlike past instances, the boy wasn't 14, but 17. It's hardly worthy of a national news story. Of course, Mrs. McCandless isn't just a teacher, she's also the principal's wife.
Having been a teenage boy once, I can attest that they spend most of their waking hours dreaming up just such improbable, fantastic sex scenarios ripped straight from the "plots" of their step-dad's video collection--hell, I'm 28 and still spend most of my waking hours dreaming up such highly improbably scenarios--which is why I can't get too worked up over these cases (female victims, that's a different matter, and I'll just acknowledge there's a double standard).
So, in addition to life imitating art, life now imitates porn as well. That could be a good thing, if only I were in high school again.

I bet you wouldn't acknowledge the double standard if it were YOUR child got molested by some freak. Or maybe you would, cause you're sick like that.
The media are, in fact, way too eager to report these kinds of things. The way they hang all over even the mildest versions, such as this latest, is proof.
But as for much of the rest of your post, you've got a lot to learn.
Fortunately, if the age you give is correct, you've got plenty of time to do so, as well as an almost understandable excuse for not having figured this out yet.
Consider that, first of all, young men may not be alone in having fantasies about teachers. Young women may imagine a romance with some dreamy English instructor (if they exist). Excusing the one because of the possibility it fulfills an adolescent fantasy requires excusing the other. A double standard admitted is hardly a double standard justified.
And consider that the reality of the situation is a predatory adult using a child to meet (in this case) her own desires, without regard for the child involved. Heavy petting with a 17-year-old may edge into gray areas, especially if the teacher involved is not that much older (as some are not). But outright sex with someone 13 or 14 is criminal for a reason. The fact that a predator is able to use a boy's ill-informed fantasy scenarios to manipulate him for her own wants is no different than were she to use ice cream to lure him into a trap if he were 8.
You will never convince me that a 17-year-old boy can be traumatized by anything sexual he engages in consentually. Ever. Doesn't happen. Are girls? Sometimes. Double standard? Sure. But can we ever admit that there are differences between the sexes, and that their attitude about sex is part of it?
Well what is the magic age, turtle? When do boys become "men" so that any sexual experience with anyone becomes "consentual?" I need to know when to back off of my own son and let him start screwing my old lady friends. They've been chomping at the bit to get a piece of him. He's only 16 but some of them are pretty hot so I guess that makes it OK? The priest seems interested too. I guess I'll quit being so overprotective since he can clearly take care of his own damn self. Whewww, check that off my list.
Ummm, 15 seems about right. You'll find that's about the mean average for the age of consent across Europe.
I guess that's why all the child molesters move to France.
So, your "old lady friends" are "chomping at the bit to get a piece of him"?
So these are your friends?
How do you know this, and what are these conversations like in which these harridans confess their carnal desires?
In which Flannery O'Connor backwater do you live where hardboiled old biddies slobber lasciviously over your spawn, and you just listen to their sweaty fantasies and still remain friends?
Turtle, How do you give consent to the person who is grading your papers? Or writing your presciption? Or signing your paychecks? It's all about the balance of power, not the age of consent.
When I driving age, my sister (already away at college by then...) complained that my parents let me stay out later than they'd let her stay out when she had been my age. But, there was good reason statistically because more female teenagers got attacked after midnight than male teenagers. Life is not fair.
Second, I do know a male friend that had a sexual relationship with a female teacher, and nobody's parents found out, and he certainly didn't seem harmed by it--if anything, it gave him some much-needed self esteem.
Third, if either of my sons loses their virginity in their teens--and whether right or wrong, and no matter what I tell them, it's a high probability they will--I'm not sure whether I would rather it be with another girl their age, or a teacher....I can see pluses and minuses to either choice, and many ways for either situation to go very bad.
Sorry...stream of consciousness monster caught me...
Louis, it was more satirical than true but I suspect you know that and you just wanted an audience to show off your big vocabulary and make your weekly reference to Flannery O'Conner. I hope you didn't get any on your shirt. I'm sure its a Brooks Brothers baby.
Flamewhore, see, now I didn't say anything about right or wrong (I may very well agree that it is "wrong" for a teacher to have sex with a student, especially one so young) or the stickiness involving imbalances of power. (Btw, there usually is some level of power imbalance in any sexual relationship, but people can often be mistaken in their assumption of who actually has the upper hand.)
All I said was that teenage boys do not get psychologically traumatized by such events. That was and is my only point. Won't damage them. (Unless there was already something going wrong beforehand.)
Remember Nathaniel in Six Feet Under? He lost his virginity to an older woman when he was fifteen. Didn't seem to be a major piece of his past that haunted him. I realize that's fiction, but it happens more often that we like to admit.
And to 'anonymous' with the 16-year-old, you're right, there is no "magic age." As a protective parent are you really suddenly going to stop worrying about your son's sex life the morning of his 18th birthday, whereas the night before you would have beheaded anyone suggesting he might be able consent to sex?
Is anyone else struck by how much this teacher looks "Linda Trippish"? That has to be more scarring than anything else.
Anonymous,
"Weekly reference to Flannery O'Conner (sic)"? I'm sorry I misjudged you -- you definitely come from that sort of backwater.
Ah'll have a mint julep wah'll you beat the road dust outta mah Brooks Brothers three-piece, Nonnymus. Meanwhile, you maht check on yer boyah. Old Miss Sassyfrass from down yonder seems to be using him to stir her grits!
No doubt she'll be protected by the teachers union, just the way Tom Watson and the Colorado Springs Education Association is protecting Matt Prichard down in Colorado Springs by providing legal defense for these kinds of pedophiles.
Where the hell where she when i was a teenager? i wouldent sad no god damn shes a dream :)
I'd have sex with her any day of the week. I'm just sick like that. Plus she's hot!!!
Damn
PSP is Way Better Than DS
I happen to be one of those guys who got laid by an attractive teacher when I was 16. I loved it. If this was exploiting me I can't see how. It was exactly what I wanted and I could not get pregnant, unlike my sisters out there who all of you old peckers should leave alone.
